Deezer, the European Imeem, has launched its new beta platform and now has track permalinks (e.g. “Take Her to the Music Store” by From Autumn to Ashes - yes, you may call me emo).

Deezer still has a ghastly flash interface (you are breaking fundamental web conventions like the back button) and needs to provide embeddable track samples (30 secs should be permissible) and downloads, but it’s well under way to becoming a mainstay of my media usage. Fred and I met the team last year and they will do great things for music industry evolution to a more consumer-friendly digital model in Europe.
