UPDATE 2 (10 Jan 08, 1028 GMT): I spoke at length to Lucy George, Badoo Director Communications, who gave me some interesting insights on the company. She contends most of my points are false and has some excellent arguments, especially on business model. The one reason I am still skeptical is because they are quite cagey about the founders and management. I am waiting for the CV of their MD and to use the service again to edit this post with new information. I will also DD with some third-parties and then see where we end up. In the meantime, the points that have Badoo PR in a flutter are temporarily scripted out.
UPDATE (9 Jan 08, 1512 GMT): Badoo German and US PR have been in touch and are setting up a contact with the company. I am very much looking forward to finding out who Badoo is and what their plans are. This post may be edited in future to reflect information they have given me, even if I am not able to divulge it.
