In the spirit of the previous post, I am introducing not just a new regular feature of this blog, but a whole new focus. Basically, it’s “FREE ideas for your next startup from your friendly neighbourhood venture capitalist.” I call it 100 Ideas and the (101st, I guess) idea is the following:
I am committing myself to write about 100 Ideas for new company creation. Some will be clones of stuff that already exists in the US and Asia, some will be incremental improvements, some market disruptive, game-changing ventures, some will be based on business model innovation and some on new technical developments. As always, the focus will be on internet/consumer media and web-based (SaaS) consumer and enterprise software. All of these will be free for you to use, modify, execute on. All I ask is that you attribute the idea to me and that, when the time comes, you talk to Atlas Venture about funding you.
Here is the first post in the new “100 ideas” category: Idea #1: Last.fm for Web History - Alexa for Europe. Enjoy.
Quick note on organization: I am creating a new category entitled “100 Ideas” and you can subscribe just to that feed. Looking forward to discussing with you. As always, you can reach me via email or connect me on XING.
